COLOURFUL HISTORY

S&S Power Switchgear Limited was established in the year 1975 in Technical collaboration with Brush Fusegear, U.K for manufacture of HRC fuses. Highvoltage Disconnecting Switches were introduced in 1978 in collaboration with Southwales Switchgear, U.K. In the year 1981, Medium Voltage Switchgear was introduced for the first time in India in collaboration with Brush Switchgear, U.K. Hawker Siddeley Switchgear, U.K, entered into equity partnership as a part of the collaboration agreement. In the year 1986, Outdoor Porcelain Clad Vacuum Circuit Breakers were developed indigenously, type tested at KEMA, Holland and introduced into Indian market for the first time.

THE COMPANY

S&S Power has state of art modern manufacturing facility at Puducherry, India equipped with testing facilities which are vital to meet the specific requirements for the manufacture of High Technology Power Protection Equipments for Transmission and Distribution. Careful selection of automatic and semi-automatic machines enables S&S Power to manufacture quality products to meet the stringent customer requirements.

S&S Power had rapid growth in sales, which has been mainly due to the Customer patronage in buying our products repeatedly and favouring us with large quantity orders. This was supported by S&S Power with the introduction of new products to meet the customer's changing needs.

PRODUCTS

OFF-LOAD DISCONNECTORS

S&S Power is the largest manufacturer of Disconnectors in India with over 7000 installation to its credit. The range of Disconnectors include Centre Break, Double Break, Pantograph and Vertical Break Series from 36kV to 800 kV. Disconnectors are supplied with different mechanisms namely - Manual, Manual Geared or Electric Motor operated. Insulators of Solid Core type, Terminal Connectors of Rigid or Expansion type and Support Structures can be supplied as optional items.

S&S Power is the only Company in India who have successfully type tested the Disconnectors at International test laboratory - KEMA, Holland twice. The type tests conducted include the Ice Breaking test for High Altitude installation of these disconnectors.

TESTING & QUALITY ASSURANCE

Modern facilities for routine and type tests to exacting standards and other tests conducted under simulated conditions ensure consistence in the quality of products from S&S Power.

S&S Power has obtained certificate of rating from KEMA (HOLLAND),CESI (ITALY), besides all leading laboratories within India, clearly proving the design of its products. S&S Power is committed to TQS (Total Quality System). S&S Power has been certified by TUV Germany as an ISO 9001:2000 Company.

EXPORTS

S&S Power has executed and is executing export contracts from Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal, Hongkong, Oman, Argentina, UK, South Africa, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Thailand for supply of Disconnectors. Repeated orders from these esteemed customers prove customer's confidence reposed on our products and our timely delivery.

S&S Power is the only company in India to have sold 3470 nos of Circuit Breakers and 4000 nos of Disconnectors in export market. Please refer to the Reference list for detailed information.

BRIGHT FUTURE

S&S Power has decided to concentrate its efforts in the area of its core competency namely the manufacture of Disconnectors and consequent to this the Low voltage business of Miniature Circuit Breakers and HRC fuses has been hived off.
